For the past two months AKP has been preparing the draft of the new constitution that it wishes to pass.

According to the draft, the Higher Education Council (YOK) will be abolished and the current ban on turban (the Islamic headscarf) will be lifted. The new article related to the turban will say, ‘rights to education cannot be withheld because of clothing and attire’. The change will open the doors of universities to girls that wear turban – but also to other forms of attire, possibly even bourqas.
