Independent MP Kamer Genc: Gul’s Wife With Her Turban Will Make Turkey Resemble An Arab State

Abdullah Gul continues to make rounds to shore up support for his controversial candidacy for president. At his meeting with independent MP Kamer Genc, Gul heard harsh words from Genc who reiterated his fears that Gul wanted a sharia state. Genc said that Gul’s covered wife with her turban will make Turkey look like an Arab state. He added: “Please don’t fill the presidential palace with people covered in black bourqas and Islamic caps who pretend to be secular.”
