PERTH is a truly multicultural city, where residents are likely to take tea with a Brit in Mindarie, say ciao to an Italian in Stirling and meet a Malaysian in Murdoch.
The cultural map that emerges from the latest census shows that while Perth is home to 236 nationalities, no concentration comes close to the British domination of the northern suburbs. The "invasion'' has prompted the City of Wanneroo to prepare welcome packs for new arrivals that outline Australian laws and customs, such as why you don't need a TV licence in Australia, as in the UK.
