Deniz Baykal, chairman of main opposition party CHP said that Turkey, the only secular democracy among Muslim countries is now in danger. He added that Gul’s political past is loaded with claims and statements all of which pose a threat for Turkish Republic. The project to transform Turkey to a “moderate Islamic” country is at work and will gain speed after the presidential elections. No one can expect us to share the responsibility for this process. That is why we will not participate in the presidential vote. They created a giant in a lab and now this giant is out of control.
