Crime survey backs Government's handling of Haneef case

THE Federal Government did nothing wrong in its treatment of terror suspect Mohamed Haneef, according to a Perthnow and The Sunday Times survey.
The Law and Order survey also revealed most people believe the police should have the right to detain terror suspects for an extended amount of time.

In the survey, 66 per cent said of the public said the Federal Government handled the terrorist suspect Dr Mohamed Haneef in a reasonable manner.

And nearly 90 per cent said police should have the right to detain terror suspects for a broad amount of time.
