Turkish Theology Professor: When Turban Was Allowed In University, Not One Girl Was Left Uncovered:

"We have the experience with both. We remember how it was when turban was allowed. In 1988 when they allowed turban in the universities, there was no girl left uncovered. Girls who braided and gathered their hair with hairpins were harassed by male students in the hallways who told them ‘why don’t you cover your hair, you want to be a fashion model or what?’ Very soon all the girls covered their heads, and none of them dared complain due to the social pressure on them. They said that it was out of their own will that they covered themselves”
