An infamous prisoner without a shred of remorse was today jailed - for a third time - for one of the most brutal and cowardly assaults inflicted in a Victorian jail.
Ali Ali’s attack on an inmate with schizophrenia in 1999 is regarded as one of the state’s worst assaults in a case notorious in legal circles.
A Supreme Court judge this morning said Ali’s vicious and brazen attack on Michael Tully, who she described as a “simple and vulnerable man”, was totally unprovoked and unwarranted.
